HOWEVER. This is indefensible at ANY size. SOMEONE had to say it. Perhaps it’s an unflattering photo. But there’s some assumptions being taken with the commentary of this photo: “She’s getting her love on in the club. You mad?”: What in his body language (in this snapshot) is indicative that he is responding to her with mutual attraction in an affectionate manner? “She was too busy to be self-consciously tugging on her skirt.”: then she probably shouldn’t have worn it. Again this is not size specific. I would (and do) say the same thing to any size of any gender. I mean honestly though, I’m not going to down her because that would be oppressive. Is it my cup of tea? No. But where is the line between personal responsibility in self-representation and individual freedom of expression drawn? I’m all for size acceptance and loving yourself blase, blase. But more importantly, I’m all about wearing what flatters you and your body and always being cognizant that not every clothing choice available will do that. Commence to calling me a hater. Dee you’re my girl but no one no one ever has any responsibility to make you comfortable with how they present themselves. No one anywhere has a responsibility to anyone to wear “flattering” clothes. No one. No one has a responsibility to behave in a way that anyone but they themselves feel good about. Part of not only bodily autonomy is personal autonomy to do as we please when we please. Maybe -you- shouldn’t wear that outfit because it would make you uncomfortable. Clearly this person is doing just fine. Aside from some jackass taking their picture without (most likely) permission which is a bullshit move. And this is where I part ways with the “Acceptance” communities. Condoning nonsense in the name of individual freedom of expression. I’ll maintain my lane of fighting injustice in race in gender because this right here? Nah. Not bout that life. So why do you get to make the rules of what is and isn’t acceptable? Why do you get to decide what’s good or not good for someone else? I’m not saying you can’t do as you please with your own self. I’m more interested in supporting autonomy even when someone does something I don’t agree with. Would I wear that outfit no. I think the skirt is ugly. Does that mean she can’t wear the outfit, no it doesn’t. I don’t get what the issue with that is. Not just with you Dee but in general. That being said… We only know very little about what is going on in this picture. For all we know this is a gay club and “she” is in drag for fun with “her” man, that is how little we could even assume about this photo. Assuming the situation is in fact a big girl kissing a man in a club how do we know that her skirt was not of “respectable length” before he rucked it up to get a feel on that ass? Before withdrawing his hands because he saw some asshole about to take a picture? He was the only one in position to see the camera person, and since cameras flash at 1/1000 of a second (if not more) there was no time for him to pull her skirt down and explain why (seriously trying doing that in 6 seconds let alone a fraction of one). At the time of the photo she probably felt no breeze cause her ass was probably still warm from being touched. As of the time that I write this I reside on the side of team “GET IT GURRRRL!” cause I generally find it a good thing to see a fat girl get some goddamn love, however, this picture is no indication of their relationship if there is any.
